Noel Hines - DOP / Lighting Cameraman / Director of Photography / Steadicam Operator
I'm a London based cameraman who's spent over ten years working across television, film, commercial and corporate production. I'm also a Steadicam operator and an experienced focus puller. I've filmed for the majority of major independent production companies and broadcasters BBC, ITV, C4, Netflix and not forgetting Youtube etc.
I'm as comfortable lighting large spaces with big crews as I am looking after my own kit in adventurous and difficult situations. I work efficiently, shoot editorially and always keep focused on the story being told.
I shoot with all the modern cameras from the likes of Sony, Red and Arri, but my go-to camera kit is my trusty 4K Sony FS7 which I've been refining for the last couple of years. Please see the equipment section of my site for more details.
I also spent five years teaching BA and MA students how to shoot and edit as a Technical Adviser at Goldsmiths, University of London. Through teaching I unexpectedly learned a great deal. I helped install and run three television studios and supervised the production of hundreds of short documentaries. A number of these docs had TV broadcast and won prestigious awards at major festivals.
I have a creative art school background and I still like to paint and take photos. I also have a BA Hons 1st degree and made a couple of award winning short films. Turns out that my real passion is helping other people turn their visions into reality with big lights, as calmly and efficiently as possible. And I just really really like cameras and lenses and lights... Oh and my first word was light.
